Miss Finch NYC started the way a lot of family businesses do — with a problem that needed solving. In 2009, a husband-and-wife team in New York noticed that women who wanted to dress modestly were stuck choosing between frumpy and expensive. There was almost nothing in between.
So they started making what they couldn't find. Working out of Manhattan's Garment District, they designed dresses that were modest without being boring — original prints, real structure, fabrics that didn't feel like a compromise. They sold them at trunk shows and through small retailers who understood the customer.

Word spread. Stores across the country started carrying the line. By the time Miss Finch launched online in 2019, there was already a loyal following of women who knew the name — because they'd been wearing the dresses for years.
Today, Miss Finch is still a small family operation. Every print is designed in-house, produced in small batches, and never mass-produced. The business has grown, but the approach hasn't changed: make beautiful modest clothing that women actually want to wear, and stand behind every piece.
How We Got Here
